Rory should’ve been the companion that ran off with the Doctor and saved Starship UK and got a Weeping Angel in his eye.

He should’ve also been the one to kiss the Doctor, except he would’ve done it shyly and been awkward and reserved about it because he wouldn’t be sure if the ~gay vibes~ he was picking up were accurate or not.
